First Days in Sarajevo

Sarajevo: roughly translated means castle around a field in Turkish. Sarajevo is a beautiful city of lush green trees, foothills of spotted with red-tiled roofs, with mountain peaks in the distance. The history and culture is so rich: minarets and steeple spot the skyline and cobblestones pave the streets. The war is present also from bullet holes and shelled out buildings. It is a unique juxtaposition between beauty and culture and sheer destruction. The war however does not hold people back, and looking around there are people who are survived the war and are full of beauty just like their city.
